DEMONSTRATIVES

Demonstratives indicate “this”, “these”, “that” and “those” objects. 

 

Demonstratives must agree with the noun they qualify.




Mifano:

1.       Mtu huyu analala                      [This person is sleeping]

2.      Watu hawa wanalala                  [These people are sleeping]

3.      Mti ule ni mrefu sana               [That tree is very tall]

4.      Miti ile ni mirefu sana              [Those trees are very tall]

5.      Hilo ni jina zuri                        [That is a good name]

6.      Hayo ni majina mazuri           [Those are good names]

7.       Kiti hiki ni changu                    [This chair is mine]

8.      Viti hivi ni vyangu                     [These are my chairs]

9.      Ndizi hiyo ni tamu                    [That banana is delicious]

10.   Ndizi hizo ni tamu                    [Those bananas are delicious]

11.    Ukuta ule ulijengwa                  [That wall was built]

12.   Kuta zile zilijengwa                   [Those walls were built]

Nyumba hii ni yangu.
